The winner! Chris Estwanik crosses the finishing line to claim his fourth title.

Chris Estwanik etched his name forever in the annuls of the Bermuda Half Marathon Derby history by romping home to his fourth straight race victory. He finished the 13.1 mile course just two seconds shy of the record time he set in 2008, to reaffirm his status as the Island's current king of the roads. The former Nike Farm runner's one-man show saw him finish in one hour, eight minutes and 27 seconds – more than four minutes quicker than runner-up Lamont Marshall who came home in 1:12.49.Marshall clung on to second place following a thrilling sprint finale with youngster Sean Trott, who came third in 1:12.53 - a personal best May 24 time.Race winner Estwanik was thrilled with his victory despite agonisingly missing out on the fastest time.“I was agonisingly close, what's that per mile, 0.08 of a second or something. But that's the way it goes, it was just beautiful conditions out there today,” he said.“But, my God, it was beautiful conditions, the body held up really well today, I was thrilled, and I just felt so good. Some days you get blessed with a day when everything comes together and you've got to take advantage of it.”In the women's race, a jubilant Deon Breary celebrated “a dream come true” by winning her first Marathon Derby in a time of 1:30.33.Jennifer Alen had been leading the women's race but collapsed on Church Street through fatigue to pave the way for Breary's memorable victory.Breary, 41, said: “It's feel unbelievable, it's a dream come true as I've wanted to be number one for so long. I came here to win today. I believed I could win.“Jennifer collapsed and I took advantage of the situation. I felt strong until the very end. It's a great feeling.”For Victoria Fiddick it was a day to forget with the pre-race favourite posting a disappointing time of 1:31.42.Fiddick admitted she was far from her best but paid tribute to Breary for her surprise triumph.“Hats off to Deon, she ran a good race, but for me I had my worse time and I didn't feel good out there at all,” she Fiddick, who finished second ahead of third place Karen Smith."My biggest fear was running today and not running my best and getting beat, and that has happened.”Earlier scores of cyclists set off from Somerset finishing at about 9.30am.The first three in the men's section were: first Darren Glasford, second Damian Sharp and third Wayne Scott.See a video of the cycle race: http://www.youtube.com/user/theroyalgazette#p/a/u/1/ynmKJTbOu2wThe winner in the junior male category was Dominique Mayho.Winner of the female section was Nicole Mitchell and second was Karen Bordage.Jeremiah steede won the junior male race and Quasshie Douglas won the junior female race. The start of the races was delayed by about 30 minutes because of an accident. To see our race photo gallery go here: http://www.royalgazette.com/apps/pbcs.dll/tngallery?Site=RG&Date=20110524&Category=NEWS&ArtNo=524009999&Ref=PH
