Two men recognised for their contributions to Warwick parish

The Economic Empowerment Zone Agency (EEZA) this week honoured two men for their contributions to the Warwick community.Loderick Holder and Llewelyn Simmons were both given the Rubber Tree Community Service Awards by Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Kim Wilson in a ceremony on Monday.Mr Holder is one of the founders of the Cedar Hill Block Parties, an annual event, and was credited as a driving force in widening Longford Hill and having sidewalks built between St Mary’s Road and Middle Road.Mr Simmons was one of the founders of the Handy Man programme with Age Concern, and for the last 13 years has been a member of the Berkeley Institute Board of Governors.Roxanne Christopher of the Bermuda Small Business Development Corporation said: “Both of these individuals have served the Warwick community for years and were nominated because of their unfailing concern and care for the community at large.“These unsung heroes have always made sure that the Warwick stakeholders were cared for.”
