New York woman told: 'Welcome to Bermuda. That's $2,000 to be paid immediately. Come back again, without the drugs'

A 28-year-old visitor from New York caught with drugs in her luggage was fined whe she appeared at Magistrates' Court today.Typhanie Wolman, of Brooklyn, pleaded guilty to importing cannabis on June 4.She told Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo that she had come to Bermuda for three days vacation after her husband took the children for the weekend.The court heard that Wolman was searched by Customs after a sniffer dog in LF Wade International Airport was alerted to her person. Cannabis and cannabis resin weighing three grams were found in a container of toiletries.Asked by Mr Tokunbo how her vacation had been, Wolman said: “Aside from this, it's been lovely.”Mr Tokunbo told her: “Welcome to Bermuda. That's $2,000 to be paid immediately. Come back again, without the drugs.”
