High interest in Grand Atlantic housing units

Building: Construction continues at the Grand Atlantic Hotel Resort and associated housing units in Warwick. More than 100 people have expressed an interest in the new housing units.

More than 100 people have expressed interest in a new Bermuda Housing Corporation development on the South Shore, even though it won’t be ready for another two months.Minister of Environment Walter Roban revealed on June 9 that the first phase of 24 units at the Grand Atlantic development were nearing completion.At that time he said more than 70 people had expressed interest.He told the House of Assembly on Friday that 100 people have now been in touch and he sang the praises of the new development.Residents will eventually have access to Southlands which is soon to become a national park and to a nearby South Shore beach.The prices for Grand Atlantic homes will range from $495,000 for a two-bedroom unit to $670,000 for an ocean-view, three-bedroom unit.Mr Roban has stated that the Warwick condos will offer all the luxuries of a hotel, saying: “I wouldn’t mind coming to stay a few days myself.”The first Grand Atlantic units will be available at the end of August.
