The Bermuda Regiment and the Bermuda Islands Pipe Band will present a Beating of the Retreat ceremony this evening.US Consul General to Bermuda Grace Shelton will be guest of honour at the event, the second such ceremony this month.The bands will perform classic American tunes, including ‘God Bless the USA’, ‘Yankee Doodle’ and ‘Stars and Stripes’.The Regiment’s director of music, Capt Dwight Robinson said: “The Band and Corp of Drums is always particularly pleased to prepare for this series of Beatings of the Retreats as the locals and visitors in the audience are always greatly receptive and appreciative.”Ms Shelton said she was looking forward to an exciting evening.The ceremony will take place at the flag pole in Hamilton at 9pm.
