Widow seeks answers over husband’s murder
The widow of a Bermudian man who was shot dead in the Dominican Republic said she’s “disappointed and numb” after charges were dropped against the suspect.Mandisa Tucker, wife of murdered Ricardo (Ricky) Tucker, fears she has missed the cut-off date for filing an appeal against the decision because she’s been unable to reach prosecutors on the Caribbean island.Mr Tucker was shot dead in March 2010 during his 35th birthday celebrations at a house in the town of Luperon, on the north coast. He and Mrs Tucker have three children.Mrs Tucker told The Royal Gazette she’s been unable to glean much information about the case from prosecutors. She found out a man named Erickson Estevez was charged with the killing, but was told last week by a friend in the Dominican Republic that the charges have been dropped.
