A 28-year-old Latvian national appeared in Magistrates' Court this morning on firearms charges.Janis Zegelis was charged with importing a 9mm semi-automatic pistol as well as 192 rounds of 9mm ammunition into Bermuda on July 21 of this year.He is also charged with possession of the same.Zegelis, who appeared in blue overalls and unshaven, was not required to enter a plea as the matter will have to be heard in Supreme Court.He was remanded in custody until August 19, when he will appear for mention.
