Police PR head to take charge of DCI
Police Media Relations Manager Dwayne Caines has been appointed the acting head of the Department of Communication and Information Services, it was announced this afternoon.A statement said: “Cabinet Office announced today that Dwayne Caines, has been appointed Acting Director of the Department of Communication and Information Services for a three-month period with effect from September 1, 2011.“Mr Caines has 15 years experience in media and communications including seven years in a managerial capacity. Mr Caines will oversee all aspects of the department’s operations including public affairs, creative services and the CITV television station.”In June, it was announced that Beverle Lottimore, the Director of the Department of Communication and Information for past eight years, had been seconded to head the Bermuda Government office in Washington DC for three years.A statement announcing her move said: “Ms Lottimore’s reporting structure will remain unchanged and under the guidance of the Premier, Secretary to the Cabinet and Assistant Secreary to the Cabinet it is anticipated that the Washington office will continue in it’s current role and will be expanded.”
