21-year-old man broke into his mother’s home, court told

An unemployed 21-year-old man was given a conditional discharge today after he admitted breaking into his mother’s home.Rayshun Edwards, from Warwick, pleaded guilty to wilfully damaging a door and a window in his mother’s apartment in an incident on Monday. The court heard that shortly after midnight, Edwards attended his mother’s home and began shouting: “I want my f***ing s*** back.”When his mother did not open the door, Edwards smashed a glass pane on the door, unlocked it, and kicked in the door to his mother’s bedroom. After pleading guilty, Edwards said he was frustrated because he had been kicked out of his grandmother’s home and several items of value had been taken from his room.“I’m not trying to cause damage, I’m not trying to hurt anybody,” Edwards said. “I just want my belongings back.”Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner gave Edwards a conditional discharge, ordering him to pay $500 to repair the damage he caused.
