Bermuda cliff diving video is an Internet hit
A video showing young people having summer fun cliff diving in Bermuda has gone viral on the Internet. The ‘Trip Of A Lifetime, Cliff Jumping in Bermuda’ film was posted on YouTube on Wednesday and had been viewed 14,472 times by last night. The montage of clips was a collaboration between two production companies; Bermuda-based Burnt House Productions and California-based Shreddy Times.According to the video, it all came about when Evan Faulkenberry, 25, from Burnt House Hill, Warwick, wrote to the California company on June 21 saying: “Hey, Evan from Bermuda here. We have made cliff jumping videos called ‘falling off the rock,’ and wanted to extend an invitation to you to join us in this year’s edition.”Mr Faulkenberry explained a glass-bottomed boat had been hired for filming on July 17, and 50 to 60 people were going to film themselves jumping into the sea at spots around the Island.Mike Wilson from the US production company can then be heard on the voice-over saying: “Pack your bags ‘cos we’re heading to Bermuda.”The film then moves onto clips of sun-drenched young people drinking, having fun on the boat, and jumping from cliffs, rooftops and bridges around the Island into the sea. Among the spots shown are Horseshoe Bay, Watford Bridge, Admiralty House Park cove and the Newstead Hotel wall overlooking Hamilton Harbour. The four-minute film is accompanied by the tune Cracks (Flux Pavilion Remix) by Freestylers feat Belle Humble. In addition to the hits on YouTube, many Facebook and Twitter users from Bermuda and beyond shared links to the video with their friends.Among the comments were: “Amazing videography,” “this is awesome,” and “this should be our tourism video”.l See the video at:http://tinyurl.com/3mj8s7o
