A 31-year-old Devonshire man was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving after his rental cycle collided with a taxi.Uniformed officers were present for the accident which happened on Sunday around 3.15am.Said a police spokesman: “Afterwards, the rider of the rental cycle rode away in an erratic manner. [The Devonshire resident] was stopped by police and arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. He subsequently failed the alco-analyser test and was detained in police custody. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.”Meanwhile, police arrested 17 people for outstanding warrants over the weekend.Officers also conducted liquor licence checks at licensed premises throughout the Island.
