Trojans advance to Friendship final

Somerset Trojans 2 Devonshire Cougars 1Somerset Trojans pulled off an extra-time victory over Devonshire Cougars in the semi-final of the Friendship Trophy at Southampton Oval.Trojans will meet the winners of tomorrow's other semi-final between North Village and St David's at BAA Field.Substitute Jonathan Bean proved to be Trojans' match-winner, scrambling home a header from Tahj Wade's right wing cross in the first half of the extra-time.Trojans had taken an early lead through Malachi Jones who slotted home a penalty in the 8th minute after being hauled down in the box by Kijuan Franks.Cougars drew level when Moses Steede converted 65th minute penalty won by striker Mark Steede.Trojans had to play the final few minutes of extra-time with ten men after defender Zahkie Iris was sent off for two yellow cards.The Friendship final will be held at the National Sports Centre on New Year's Day.In the Shield semi-final at Southampton Oval, Hamilton Parish beat Young Men's Social Club 3-1.Kaiya Darrell, Shayne Hollis and Donovan Thompson scored for the Hot Peppers, while Zeiko Lewis converted a penalty for YMSC.
