No foul play suspected in man's death

Police have confirmed the death of Michael Wilkinson, 57, whose body was discovered floating in the waters near the Swing Bridge in St George’s on Saturday morning.Foul play is not suspected, according to a statement released by the Police last night.“The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 57 year old Michael Wilkinson of St. George’s,” read the statement.“It appears that around 11am on Saturday, January 7th a member of the public discovered Mr. Wilkinson’s lifeless body floating in waters near the Swing Bridge in St. George’s.“He apparently lived on a boat in the area. The Marine Unit and Forensic Support Unit attended the scene and conducted inquiries.“As a result, there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances; however an autopsy is anticipated. The Bermuda Police Service extends condolences to the family & friends of Mr. Wilkinson.”Contacted at a Ferry Reach residence, Mr Wilkinson’s sister, Rehelda Wilkinson said that he was self employed and leaves behind three daughters.“We are having a very difficult time. Right now everybody is just coming around to the house to lend their support,” said Rehelda Wilkinson.His sister said Mr Wilkinson resided in the family home but also spent a great deal of time on his father’s boat.The family was informed of his death on Saturday, but said that so far no cause of death has been given by authorities.
