Play space plan for former furniture store
Plans to change a former furniture store on Reid Street into a children’s play facility have been submitted to the Department of Planning.According to the application, submitted by Lori King on January 11, the front showroom of the former Furniture Walk, in the Rego Building, will be turned into a small retail space and a cafe with an outdoor patio.Other showrooms on the site would be adapted to play areas, including an indoor climbing wall, larger restrooms and a photography studio. The climbing wall would continue into the second floor, where showrooms would make way for an art space and rooms for pool and air hockey tables.Furniture Walk moved from the Reid Street building to a location on Harvey Road, in Paget, last year, leaving the site empty. The full plans are viewable at the Department of Planning headquarters in the Dame Lois Browne Evans building. Any objections to the proposal are due by February 3.Useful website: www.planning.gov.bm.
