The Royal Gazette’s A Right To Know: Giving People Power campaign, launched in January 2008, called on Government to open up to the public all quangos, including the Bermuda Land Development Corporation (BLDC).We asked that these taxpayer-funded entities, of which there are more than 100 on the Island, be made to hold their meetings in public and publish regular minutes.That hasn’t happened yet, despite the passing of public access to information and good governance legislation in Parliament and a commitment from Premier Paula Cox to ensure transparency and accountability in Government.
