Three riders hurt in separate incidents
A 29-year-old motorcyclist suffered a leg injury after his vehicle collided with a car in Smith’s.Police say the accident happened at the junction of Verdmont Road and Sayle Road at 7.45pm on Wednesday, saying: “It appears that a motorcycle and a car were travelling along Verdmont Road when they collided.“The rider of the motorcycle, a Smith’s man, sustained relatively minor leg injuries. The driver of the car, a 73-year-old Pembroke woman, was not injured.”Earlier that day, a 45-year-old St George’s man was injured after his motorcycle crashed into a wall on Harbour Road.A Police spokesman said that it appears that at around 6.45am, the rider lost control of the vehicle near the junction with Lover’s Lane. He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, but his injuries were not believed to be serious.And an 18-year-old motorcyclist sustained minor injuries in a crash with car at the junction of South Road and Brighton Hill Road in Devonshire.The 43-year-old Devonshire man who was driving the car was not injured during that accident, which happened at 8am.
