Injured biker flown overseas
A man who was seriously injured in a road accident early on Saturday has been flown overseas for further medical treatment.The 53-year-old, from Smith’s, was said by police to have been in a single vehicle collision while riding his motorbike in the vicinity of Palmetto Road and Roberts Avenue in Devonshire.He was found near his damaged bike after the incident, which was attended by the emergency services around 1am.The man, whose name has not been made public, was treated in the Intensive Care Unit at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital before being flown overseas.This newspaper was unable to get an update on his condition yesterday. A police spokeswoman said she did not know which hospital the victim was being treated at. A hospital spokeswoman said: “We are not allowed to disclose where people airlifted overseas go to.”Any witnesses to the collision should contact PC Rawle Massiah on 295-0011.
