Teen rider hurt in collision

A Sandys teen suffered leg injuries after his auxiliary cycle and a car collided in Sandys.A police spokeswoman said officers responded to a report of a crash at around 4pm on Tuesday near the junction of Malabar Road and Runway Lane.The spokeswoman said: “It appears that a car and an auxiliary cycle were travelling along Malabar Road when they collided.“The rider of the cycle, a 16-year-old Sandys male, was injured and conveyed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of a leg injury. The driver, an 82-year-old Sandys man, was not injured.”Police inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
