US visitors hurt in rental cycle accident
A crash between a rental cycle and a bus left two tourists injured this week.Police and first responders attended a reported collision in Sandys around 10.45am on Wednesday, according to a police spokeswoman.“It appears that the vehicles were travelling along Malabar Road when the livery cycle collided with a fence, injuring both the rider and pillion passenger,” the spokeswoman said. “After striking the fence, the reportedly unmanned livery cycle collided with the bus.”The 63-year-old rider and his 57-year-old pillion passenger were both injured in the collision.The American visitors were treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for their injuries, which are not believed to be serious.The cycle was extensively damaged, while the bus received front-end damage.
