Police investigate armed attack
Armed thieves accosted two people in Sandys early Saturday morning.A wallet and a BlackBerry were stolen from a 52-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man by "two unknown men brandishing bladed articles", according to police.The incident occurred on Benny's Bay Road around 12.45am.Said a Police spokesman: "No-one was injured during the incident, however prior to fleeing on foot, the suspects also damaged the 52-year-old woman's car."One suspect was described as 6ft and wearing a grey hooded top with dark coloured jeans at the time.The second suspect was reportedly 5ft 5in and wearing a black jacket with dark coloured jeans.The spokesman continued: "An area search was conducted for the offenders, but they were not located. Inquiries are ongoing and anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the Benny's Bay Road area between midnight and 12.45am Saturday is encouraged to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010."
