Man critically ill after being rescued from the sea

A 56-year-old man is in a critical condition in intensive care after being rescued from the sea.Police said that at about 5pm on Saturday, May 26, police and first responders attended a medical emergency in the Harrington Sound Road, Devil's Hole Hill, Smith's.A spokesman said: "It appears that a 56-year-old Pembroke man was sitting on a wall in the area when he fell overboard and had to be rescued by members of the public."Police officers and members of the public initially attended to the victim before EMTs arrived on scene to assist. The man was then taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance and at last check was in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing."
