Services to be disrupted as BIU calls urgent meeting
The Bermuda Industrial Union has called an urgent meeting of its general membership tomorrow at 8am.A flier advertising the meeting says: "Agenda: Employers Attack on Trade Union Rights."Threat of KFC Job Losses Tomorrow. Who's Next?"The meeting will take place at the BIU Headquarters.A statement from Government said: "The public is advised that due to a general meeting being called by the Bermuda Industrial Union for tomorrow morning – June 1, 2012 at 8am, there will be disruptions to public transportation services as well as other public services such as postal delivery, waste management among others. It is anticipated that the meeting will last for two hours."A Government spokesperson said the following commuter ferry services will operate prior to the BIU meeting tomorrow:* 6.50am from Hamilton, arriving at Rockaway at 7.20am;* 6.50am from Hamilton, arriving at Cavello Bay at 7.10am;* 6.50am from Hamilton, arriving at Watford Bridge at Watford Bridge at 7.10am;* 7am from Hamilton, arriving at Belmont at 7.15am, Darrell's Wharf at 7.20am and Salt Kettle at 7.24am.
