Police probe Dockyard street brawl
Police have launched an investigation into an early morning street brawl between 15 to 20 people outside a popular Dockyard night spot at 3.15am on Friday involving both Bermudians and tourists.According to a police spokesman, additional units were called in once the first responders arrived at the scene.In the interim he said: “Officers already at the location dispersed the combatants and made one arrest.”The man was released without charge after he was interviewed by police.No formal complaints have been made to police as a result of the incident although one male visitor was injured, he did not require hospital treatment.No other injuries were reported and no weapons were brandished during the fracas.The spokesman added: “In line with our commitment to have additional resources in the Dockyard area during the summer period, the Bermuda Police Service will continue to monitor those levels and respond appropriately.”And as the investigation continues, police are interested in speaking with anyone who may have footage of the incident or anyone who saw what happened in the Dockyard area around 3.15am Friday.Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010 or the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.
