A fault in an underground cable left Gibbons Company and other businesses near Church and Burnaby Streets without power yesterday morning.The fault occurred around 6.30pm Monday, according to a statement from Belco.Gibbons Company, City Cafe and the Bermuda Housing Corporation were among the affected buildings.The BHC lost all telephone and e-mail communication and City Cafe was closed because of the outage.By early afternoon yesterday, Belco had located the fault and excavation was underway to repair the cable, according to a press release from the company.Repair work was expected to begin in the late afternoon or early evening yesterday, with power restored by midnight.
