Unattended SUV rolls over cycles

A parked car rolled into motorbikes outside a Government office yesterday afternoon, leaving four of them damaged.A police spokesman said officers attended the scene outside Global House on Church Street around 4.15pm.“It appears that a car collided with some parked motorcycles in the area.“The vehicles involved were damaged as a result, however there were no reported injuries,” he said.Global House is home to a number of Government departments including Public Prosecutions and the Attorney General’s Chambers.One Government worker whose bike was damaged said: “The owner of the SUV did not secure the handbrake and so it rolled on to the other side of the road. The Police came along to assess the damage to the bikes and the owner of the SUV showed up, shocked at the mishap.”He added: “My side panels were torn off and the other bikes sustained dents and damage.”He described the driver as a woman in her 40s, and said she was “very embarrassed and apologetic”.
