Endemic palmetto planted at LF Wade to promote going green

A Bermuda palmetto is the latest in a series of green initiatives at LF Wade International Airport.Staff and corporate sponsors planted an endemic Bermuda palmetto next to new seating by the arrivals area. The tree will provide shade for the seating area, which looks out over Castle Harbour.Aaron Adderley, airport general manager, ceremoniously planted the palmetto under supervision from Kevin Horsfield of Horsfield Landscape and Design Ltd.Planting the tree is the most recent of the airport’s Green Team projects since joining the Bermuda Environmental Alliance. They have also instituted an office paper recycling project and an airport-wide TAG recycling project.
