Phoney fire alarm under investigation

A phoney fire alarm caused a full evacuation of the airport on Sunday.The gate to LF Wade International Airport was closed to motorists as a result, causing traffic to be backed up along Cahow Way.According to a Government spokesman, an investigation into the incident is now underway.“It appears to be an act of vandalism as the fire alarm at Gate House number four, Zone G, was intentionally pulled and the matter is now under investigation,” he stated.“Please note that this activation was at the busiest time of the day.”The fire alarm was activated around 1.38pm, with airport operations resuming around 2.50pm.The incident caused "minimal delays" to travel, the spokesman added.
