BA apologise for cancelled flight

The British Airways service between Bermuda and London Gatwick was called off yesterday due to a technical problem with the aircraft.Both the 6.30pm incoming and the outgoing 8.20pm flight were cancelled. A BA spokeswoman apologised to customers, adding that everything would be done to transport travellers as soon as possible.It was BA’s second cancellation in a month — other cancellations are possible depending on the course and development of Tropical Storm Leslie anticipated to affect Bermuda as a Category Two hurricane early on Sunday morning.Authorities at LF Wade International Airport have been monitoring the storm’s development, but at present it is “too early to make decisions about the schedule”, the spokeswoman said.“We appreciate how frustrated our customers are with recent service cancellations,” she added. “We want to assure you that our engineering team in London is proactively addressing the technical issues and we are working hard to improve the consistency of the service.”British Airways runs a daily service to the Island up to the end of October.
