Film show aims for healing discussion
Homosexuality and Christianity will cross paths next week at the screening of a 2007 American film ‘For the Bible Tells Me So’.The Rainbow Alliance of Bermuda will be hosting the movie night at Chewstick on September 27.The film explores religion and homosexuality and shares the experiences of “five very normal, very Christian, very American families”. The film examines “how insightful people of faith handle the realisation of having a gay child”.According to a spokeswoman for the group, the Rainbow Alliance is hosting the event “in the hopes of opening a healthy discussion about the internal and external conflict many people deal with concerning religion and homosexuality”.The event starts at 6pm and is free to the public. Complimentary popcorn, snacks and drinks will also be provided.Chewstick, a neo-grit open mic lounge, is located on the corner of Court and Elliott Streets in Hamilton.
