Premier honoured at International Women’s Forum in San Francisco
Premier Paula Cox was recognised for her international leadership at an awards ceremony in San Francisco last night.The International Women’s Forum (IWF) Women Who Make a Difference award honoured her work in the public and private sectors.The awards are given each year by the IWF in recognition of women around the world who, by way of their example, contributions and exceptional leadership have removed barriers for women’s advancement.Ms Cox was one of ten recipients honoured. She is the president and founder of the Bermuda IWF Chapter, and is in San Francisco attending the IWF’s annual World Leadership Conference.Other local women attending the event include MPs Patricia Gordon Pamplin and Louise Jackson, businesswomen Paula Clarke, Pam Ferreira and Vicki Coelho and singer Gita Blakeney.According to a Government press release, the costs of the Premier’s trip are not being publicly funded.Useful website: www.iwforum.org
