The Bermuda Police Service is mourning the loss of one of their own — Pc Garth Francis.The Dominican officer died on Sunday in his home country after a period of illness at the age of 41, leaving his mother and three children.Commissioner of Police Michael DeSilva said: “Garth will be sadly missed by his colleagues and friends.“He will be fondly remembered for his enthusiasm, professionalism and positive attitude at work, but even moe so for the strength he showed through courage in the face of difficulty.“On behalf of the Bermuda Police Service, I offer my deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Pc Francis in this time of bereaved loss.”A funerals service will be held in Dominica tomorrow and a local memorial service is being planned for later this month.
