Lost sailor sloop remains in Bermuda

<I>Blue Moon</I> berthed in St George’s. A crew member who went overboard remains lost at sea.

The US sloop Blue Moon remains at the East End after losing a 39-year-old crew member as it neared Bermuda.The 39-foot sloop was on its way to St Thomas from New York, according to Bermuda Maritime Operations.A search for the man overboard was called off on Friday evening after nearly a full day of rescue attempts by Bermuda and US authorities.The vessel arrived on November 10, with the missing man’s wife subsequently flying to the Island.Requesting privacy, crew members declined to comment. The missing man, now presumed lost at sea, has yet to be named.
