Former Turks and Caicos head Michael Misick has been arrested in Brazil, in connection with a corruption investigation in Bermuda’s sister British Overseas Territory of TCI.UK authorities are seeking the extradition of the 46-year-old ex-Premier back to the Turks and Caicos Islands, for “serious” charges by the territory’s Special Investigation Prosecution Team.The “alleged corruption and maladministration” arises from a 2008/09 inquiry under former High Court Judge Sir Robin Auld.Federal Police, armed with warrants from Interpol and the Brazilian Supreme Court, arrested Mr Misick yesterday in a Rio de Janeiro airport.
