Evicted man intends to battle on
An eviction notice was served yesterday against Sandys resident Robert Moulder, whose protected legal battle over a land dispute has left him saddled with hundreds of thousands in costs.Mr Moulder is adamant that the Bermuda Court of Appeal unjustly withheld recordings of his 2011 hearing, which he says he needs in order to bring his case before the Privy Council.Following a ruling in November by President of the Court of Appeal Edmund Zacca, recordings of the proceedings will be made available to litigants. However, according to Supreme Court Registrar Charlene Scott, no recording of Mr Moulder’s appeal was made at the time in question.Mr Moulder’s eviction is not at the behest of a bank, as other high-profile evictions have been — but was instigated by a legal firm to cover costs.Undeterred, Mr Moulder vowed yesterday to take his appeal to Governor George Fergusson, even as bailiffs enforced his removal from the residence. His appeal, under the name of Bobby Moulder, has been posted on Facebook in a bid to draw other litigants to the cause.
