St George’s may not have a cruise ship in port, but based on size the visiting mega-yacht Eclipse might give one a run for its money.Eclipse, the world’s largest privately owned yacht, arrived at Penno’s Wharf yesterday morning, travelling from St Martin. The massive ship is owned by Russian billionaire and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich. The visit to Bermuda marks a homecoming of sorts for the vessel, which calls Hamilton its port of registry.Along with all the expected luxuries and amenities, the ship boasts two helipads, two swimming polls, several hot tubs, a disco hall and a mini-submarine.It also has plenty of room for visitors with 24 guest cabins in addition to rooms for the 70 members of the ship’s crew. The ship also features a wealth of security systems, including a missile defence system. The ship’s master suite and the bridge both feature armoured plating and bulletproof windows. All of that luxury however reportedly carried a price tag, with estimates of the ship’s value ranging from $475 million to $1.12 billion.
