A Smith’s man yesterday denied growing cannabis plants discovered by Police last year.Makki Talbot Foote, 27, pleaded not guilty to the offence and also to charges that he was in possession of cannabis and drug equipment on October 27.The court heard that police discovered eight seedlings during a search of his Smith’s property.Officers also discovered a plastic container with 13.47g of cannabis and a coffee grinder fitted to be used in connection with the controlled drug.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner released Mr Foote on $5,000 bail with a like surety.The matter is expected to return to Magistrates’ Court in June for trial.
