Quarantine lifted: King Edward VII Memorial Hospital has removed restrictions on Gordon Ward
A quarantine that had been in place at Gordon Ward has been lifted, Bermuda Hospitals Board announced yesterday.The decision was made after 96 hours passed without any new cases of gastroenteritis reported at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.“Bermuda Hospitals Board confirms that all restrictions from Gordon Ward have been lifted, as there have been no further new patient or employee cases of gastroenteritis reported in the last 96 hours,” a spokeswoman said.“Bermuda Hospitals Board thanks all staff, patients and visitors who have been impacted by the outbreak for their cooperation and patience.”A norovirus, first reported last month, was linked to a series of illnesses in the hospital ward.Approximately 33 people were affected.
