Cut above the rest: Upper Primary students raised $109,744 considerably over their goal of $75,000 by shaving there head for St Baldrick's day along with the primary boys where three fathers, Director of Academic Support at Saltus, Mrs. Karen Lusher, and Secondary ICT teacher Mr. Steve Young had their heads shaved; in addition, two girls and one mother had their hair cut to donate to Locks of Loveþ (a charity that provides hairpieces to children who have lost their hair to cancer and other medical conditions). Three Secondary students SGY2 Kenedi Edwards, S11 Lianne McKeown and S7 Connor Somerville — will be going to BAA later in the day to have their heads shaved Lianne is having her hair cut first and donating it to Children With Hair

St Baldrick’s started early this year, with a group of Saltus students raising more than $100,000 for charity this morning.A total of 44 Saltus Upper Primary School students, three parents and two teachers all went under the shears as part of the fundraising event.Headmaster Ted Stauton said that at last count, the team had raised $110,599 for PALs and the St Baldrick’s Foundation — above and beyond their $75,000 goal.“This was a record number of shavees for us,” Mr Stauton said. “We also had two female students and one mother who had their hair cut for ‘Locks of love’.“The support has been overwhelming and the sense of community at Saltus is amazing.”
