After 40 years on the job, the City of Hamilton's flagpole is to be taken down over the weekendThe Front Street's 80ft aluminium, nautical flagpolehas stood by the Burnaby Hill junction since 1973.City Secretary Edward Benevides said the years had taken a toll, requiring the damaged pole to be replaced.“The City will be without a flagpole until the new one arrives and is installed,” he said.“The new flagpole will be identical to the one it replaces.For more pictures click
