Collision stalls Front Street traffic
Front Street was temporarily reduced to single-lane traffic this afternoon following a collision between two vans and a taxi.A Police spokesman said: “Around 2.30pm on Monday, police and first responders attended a reported three-vehicle collision on Front Street in the City of Hamilton near the junction with Burnaby Street.“Details are unclear at this time; however it appears that a taxi and two vans were involved. Initial information suggests that there were no serious injuries sustained and at least one of the vehicles was damaged.“Inquiries into this collision are underway.”According to one witness, one of the vans struck the taxi from behind, causing extensive damage to both vehicles.Motorists travelling west were diverted onto Parliament Street as police examined the scene of the accident, while traffic travelling east continued at a slower pace. Traffic returned to normal at around 3.15pm.
