Sometimes, you’re right, and sometimes you’re wrong, but sometimes it’s about what your points are, and how well they are conveyed.Bermuda will be hosting the Pan-American Debate Championships from July 23 to July 29.The Bermudian debaters age from 14 to 18-years-old and include: Hannah Blyden, William Campbell, Lillian Griffiths, Eron Hill, Kimika Jackson, Nicholas Pell, William (Liam) Peniston, Glenn Simmons, Jashonae Smith, and Megan Suttcliffe. They were chosen from high schools including The Berkeley Institute, The Bermuda High School for Girls, and Saltus Grammar School. They will debate students from Argentina, Canada, Chile, Mexico, Peru and the United States of America. Debates will be in English and Spanish.In addition to the debates, participants will be treated to receptions with His Excellency the Governor of Bermuda, George Fergusson; the Honourable Craig Cannonier, JP, MP, Premier of Bermuda, and the Mayor of Hamilton, Graeme Outerbridge.CedarBridge Academy will hold the preliminary debates on July 24, 25, and 26, while the semi-finals and finals will be held July 28.
