Duchess of Cambridge gives birth to boy
The Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a boy, the third in line to the throne.The Royal baby was born at 12.24pm Bermuda time, weighing 8lbs 6oz. Both the Duchess and the baby were said to be “doing well”.Premier Craig Cannonier said: “On behalf of the government and people of Bermuda, I extend our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their son and to the people of Great Britain on this very exciting and joyous occasion.”And Opposition Leader Marc Bean said: “As with every mother and newborn in Bermuda and around the world, I hope that they are in good health.”Governor George Fergusson sent the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge a letter of congratulations following the announcement expressing his delight.The Governor attended Albouy’s Point, where the Bermuda Regiment fired a 21-gun salute in honour of the birth.
