Gas station to sell gas again

St David’s will again have its own gas station by the end of the year, according to St David’s Variety owner David Roque.Mr Roque said he has been working towards selling gas at the former station since he first purchased it three years ago, but now has the planning permission and the contracts necessary to move forward.“The people in St David’s want it,” he said. “A while back we put out a petition to gauge the interest and received 800 signatures.“There has been a lot of negotiations, but towards the end of the year we should be selling gas right here at the Variety Store. Right now we are in the process of getting the tanks in the ground.”Once completed, he said the ESSO station will be able to serve boats along with cars and motorcycles with new tanks, pumps and fuel lines.“It will be an Esso Station, the same station as before, just with new tanks and new owners,” Mr Roque said.He said that since he reopened the convenience store section of the former station as St David’s Variety, business has been good, and he hopes the new gas station further enhances the store.“If you want to do well, you have to spend, and you have to put your time in,” he said. “That’s what we’re doing.”
