Due to heavy rainfall over the weekend, Laffan Street has been closed to all traffic, possibly until Wednesday.A spokesman for the City of Hamilton advised: “Traffic will not be able to turn onto Canal Road at Woodlands Road.“The Canal Road and Laffan Street intersection will remain open for westbound traffic. Vehicles will not be able to turn onto Laffan Street from Canal Road.”Additionally, the intersection at Elliott and Washington Streets has also been closed.Motorists going to businesses and residences in the area will be given access. It is anticipated the road will reopen by Wednesday.The spokesman added: “The City of Hamilton apologises for any inconvenience caused by this closure.”
