A special general meeting of the Bermuda Taxi Operators Association last night ended with some changes to its executive committee, but little was revealed as to why the meeting was called in the first place. The Royal Gazette understands that a faction had been hoping to unseat president Derek Young but the effort failed.A weary looking Mr Young would only tell this newspaper that the meeting was held to discuss “some issues” and details would be provided at a later date.He did, however, confirm that he remains the BTOA’s president. The meeting — held at Warwick Workman’s Club — lasted about 90 minutes.
