MP Davis won’t face charges
Government MP Nandi Davis will not be charged over allegations that she wilfully damaged a car belonging to another woman, The Royal Gazette can reveal.Ms Davis, who won her St. George’s West seat by just four votes over PLP candidate Renee Ming at last December’s general election, was rumoured to be at the centre of a police investigation launched after the vehicle was vandalised in July.It is understood Ms Davis was arrested on August 8 and was scheduled to answer police bail on Saturday. But the Department of Public Prosecutions has now decided it will not pursue the matter and no charges will be brought.Yesterday Ms Davis’s lawyer, Saul Froomkin, declined to comment on the case, while police and prosectors were unable to confirm news that the case had been dropped. But one source did reveal that, after a thorough police investigation, prosecutors believed there was insufficient evidence to take the case to court.
