Southlands celebration event tomorrow
A celebration of Warwick’s wooded Southlands estate is set for tomorrow, the Bermuda Environmental Sustainability Taskforce (BEST) announced.
The property opens to the public from 12pm to 4pm, to showcase the results of restoration efforts by volunteers, with guided doors hosted by former Government Conservation Officer David Wingate.
After 4pm, the Southlands Beach will provide a bonfire with musical entertainment until 8pm.
Fire-juggling will be performed by Ryan Flood. Musicians include Valerie Sherwood, Michael Keats, Mike Davis, Peter Haynes and the Bermuda School of Music.
Thanking Government along with volunteers, donors and corporate supporters, a BEST spokesman added: “This project is showing what can happen when Bermudians work together.”
