A pair of Bermuda pets with a rather unusual relationship appeared on US television last night.

For rather than fighting like cats and dogs, three-year-old feline Pongo and his canine companion Annie are the best of friends.

Not only do the pets share a sleeping basket, Pongo will also regularly give Annie a massage.

The animals’ antics were captured on film by owner Robin Dawson Millett, who then sent the footage to the producers of popular ABC programme ‘America’s Funniest Home Videos’.

And last week, she received confirmation that Pongo and boxer dog Annie would be featured on last night’s episode.

“We picked up Pongo from the Bermuda Feline Assistance Bureau after he was found in a dumpster,” Mrs Dawson Millett, from Paget, said.

“He quickly became attached to all the family, including Annie and our other dog, and so we couldn’t bare to give him back. He’s a real character.”
