Secrets of shipwreck to be revealed

A 17th century wreck painstakingly excavated from Castle Harbour will yield its secrets tonight at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute.

The Warwick was sent to the bottom by a hurricane in 1619 before it could reach shore.

The sail ship was kitted with the latest weaponry and navigational equipment, which have been studied in recent years by a team of underwater archaeologists.

The National Museum of Bermuda project, led by Piotr Bojakowski, was recorded over several years by documentary filmmaker Robert Zuill, who will show the video during his 7.30pm lecture.

Tickets are $20 for members and $25 for non-members, in aid of BUEI educational programmes.
