Good Day Bermuda,

For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace.

All we want for Christmas this year is peace and joy, and the ability to spend quality time with our families. We want to enjoy the comfort of family life in peace and harmony. We do not believe in violence and we want our children to grow in an environment with little or zero hostility, with joyous peace and with lots of love. I am sure many mothers and fathers have this same hope for their children too.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire community. As we enter this Christmas Season, we do so with the blessed assurance that Jesus Christ is our hope of Eternal Glory!

In spite of, and I dare say because of, the challenges we have faced during the year, we continue to put our trust in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We recognise that He took upon Himself all manner of mankind, whether it be in the form of job losses, homelessness, financial or health challenges and loss of loved ones; we continue to stand on the word of God that He will not see His righteous forsaken nor His seed begging bread.

We do not rely on man to see us through these challenging times; because we trust the Word that Jesus is the Lord overall and He will not withhold any good thing from us. His affirming Lordship over all continues to give us the blessed hope that He will perfect that which concerns us and that He will not leave us, nor forsake us in our time of need.

My friends, during this joyous season of Hope, it is our prayer that you will fix your hearts and minds on Jesus Christ. In spite of any challenges you may face, I trust that you will find peace in knowing that Jesus Christ, our Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, our Sustainer and Ruler of ALL will keep your hearts and minds in perfect peace, to His Honour and Glory, from this moment on and throughout the New Year- Amen
